North Stars have been enjoying the warmth and hospitality of High Point Village at Timm's Hill, highest point in Wisconsin, for the past nine years. This was the first year the trip was held on the three-day President's Day weekend. This allowed for ample opportunity to explore the area's excellent trails.

After the warmest January on record, February reminded us what winter in the upper midwest is all about. Our hosts woke to -35 degrees when they started our breakfast. By the time we were ready to ski it was up to - 15 degrees.
Not a complaint of the cold was heard as everyone was so pleased to see the return of winter. Conditions on the Timm's Hill National Trail were as good as they get with crisp, clear, northern air and a sapphire blue sky.

No matter the weather, the resort's Snowshoe Lodge always has a roaring fire to welcome skiers and provide an inviting retreat for meals.
