It is 9pm & all is quiet. The children are nestled snugly in their beds for that last peaceful night's sleep in serene High Point Village. My husband & I sip a glass of merlot & reminisce about the wonderful week we've spent at Lyle & Kathy's retreat. Fishing, swimming, hiking, turtles laying their eggs. Paddleboat, rowboat, waiting for my turn. Vacationing with friends. Cards & a movie, dinner at Snowshoe Lodge. The evening football game on the Lodge's grass knoll. No telephone. A time to spend with family & friends laughing, relaxing, having fun. Thank you Lyle & Kathy for sharing High Pt. with a bunch of Nebraskans. You will live on in our memories & the heart of our little ones w/much fondness.We have stayed many places, but High Point Village & Loon Loft rank up there with the best of them. Dear Kathy & Lyle, It's been 2 years since we accidentally drove by your place after climbing Timm's Hill. I put a picture of this scenic spot in my mind's memory bank and pulled it out when deciding where to go for this year's fall vacation. I'm SO GLAD that we were able to find you again! This is such a comfortable and relaxing place to be, and the scenery is just beautiful. I can't wait to come back again and share this beauty with family and friends. Lyle & Kathy, We loved our stay in your cabin. It is so beautiful and peaceful here. We loved seeing the wildlife and surrounding area. You weren't joking when you said we wouldn't want to leave! Thank you so much for your hospitality. This is a real beautiful place. We really got a kick out of seeing the Loons and the otter on our last day. I really enjoyed hooking into those crappies the other night. We also enjoyed our daily visits from Mrs. Fox. You have a real gem of a place here. This area is better than it was 30 years ago.
